TA Type Balloons
The TA type was developed in 1940 and is made from natural rubber latex compound film which has a high elasticity modulus and also high tear resistance. Physical properties are retained at extremely low temperatures and the latex compound contains additives which contribute to its resistance to oxidation and ozone.
The robustness of the rubber film allows the fully gas inflated TA Type of balloon to retain its original spherical shape, making it particularly suitable for flight in severe weather conditions.
TX Type Balloons
The TX Type was first developed in 1988 and research continues in seeking a special latex compound with other chemicals which permits balloons made of such material to reach the tropopause where temperatures are lower than -75℃ and altitude exceed 10 hPa.
